The Durham Symphony Orchestra (DSO), under the direction of Maestro William Henry Curry, is excited to present the second half of its 40th season. Formed in 1977, the DSO is composed of professional classically trained musicians who perform high quality orchestral concerts further enhancing Durham’s rich cultural heritage.
Our NC Music and All That Jazz performance will showcase jazz and NC Piedmont bluegrass music featuring pieces from North Carolina composers and local artists, including the works of Copland, Mizesko, and a special tribute to Duke Ellington’s long-time collaborator, Billy Strayhorn.
